Body Image Project

This is a project based science class. Students will learn about body image, advertising and how it affects body image, children and body image, eating healthy, promoting a healthy lifestyle, societal beauty ideals & diseases and disorders related to obesity.

Short Stories and Poems

This course uses short stories and poems to cover the literature reading skills on the TABE M or TABE D. Student interest in genres will be taken into account when choosing material.

Survey of Social Sciences

This course will look at seven of the social sciences: anthropology, communication studies, economics, management, philosophy, psychology, and sociology. For each type of social science, we will learn the functions, tenants, nuances, as well as, social and worldwide contributions from each field. Students will look at branches of each discipline, careers that align with each, and educational needs and opportunities. They will also learn about pioneers and leaders in the field.

Novel Course

With this course, students can engage with literature and improve their reading skills by using novels that are meaningful to them. The focus is on teaching enjoyment of and engagement with literature.

Financial Literacy

This course covers a lot of topics, including basic credit and credit cards, good and bad spending, and budgeting. The course also includes information on how to apply for a loan, how to manage your debt, and how to build a good credit history. These are all essential topics for anyone who wants to manage their finances effectively.

Voice Portfolio

The VAL voice portfolio is intended for students to demonstrate their clear and effective communication. Students will use the portfolio to showcase their ability to communicate effectively in a variety of situations.
